ENY Technology sells a range of Android set top boxes and Android Mini PCs. Their products range from the designed-for-XBMC EM6 Android TV Box, to the hockey-puck like EMX to the designed-for-Skype ES6 that comes with a 5 mega-pixel auto focus camera. All these 3 models are based on the dual-core Amlogic 8726-MX chipset.
ENY Technology has revealed to Androydz that they will be launching a brand new Android set top box product soon and it is called the EM8. Unlike it’s earlier generation of devices, the EM8 will feature an Amlogic quad-core chipset. This is a significant upgrade to the dual-core Amlogic 8726-MX used in its earlier products.
Although no details are given by ENY, the EM8 is almost certain to be powered by the AML8726-M8. The AML8726-M8 is a quad-core ARM Cortex-A9 chipset similar to the Rockchip RK3188. It is produced using 28 nm process and is paired with a ARM Mali-450 MP6 GPU.
The only other piece of information that we have received from ENY is a rendering of the EM8 itself. While it looks really sleek, it seems to be devote of any buttons or display although the triangle feature on the front end could be a button. No release date has been provided as well but ENY promises us to have a review unit for us to sink our teeth in once it is ready. Can’t wait for it but for now, feast your eyes on ENY’s existing products as well as the rendered shot of the EM8.
