CX919 Quad Core RK3188 Android Mini PCThe New CX-919 Android mini PC powered by the new quad core Rockchip RK3188 is now available for sale on AliExpress. Looks wise, the CX-919 looks quite a lot like the CX-803 or NC19A. It has similar looking external WiFi antenna but the casing is rounder around the edges.

The Rockchip RK3188 SoC in the CX-919 is the quad core successor to the very popular dual core RK3066. It has a quad core ARM Cortex A9 CPU paired with a quad core Mali 400 MP GPU.

The RK3066 is widely used in many Android devices including tablets, set top boxes and TV sticks. It powers many of the most popular Android mini PC devices including the MK808, UG007, iMito MX1, Minix Neo G4, MK802 III and the Uhost2.

Beginning this year, quad core based devices have started to appear including the GK802, MK810, CS868 and Tronsmart T428. The RK3188 has proven to be a very good performer and has appeared at the top when bench marked against the Nividia Tegra3 and Samsung Exynos 4412, 2 other very popular quad core processors.

Besides the quad core processor, the CX-919 also comes with 2GB DDR3 RAM and 8GB of built in ROM storage. This is about double the usual memory in the current dual core devices. Besides WiFi, it also comes with Bluetooth 4.0. The included OS is Android 4.1.1 (Jelly Bean).

As for connector ports, it has a micro SD card expansion slot, 2 micro USB ports (1 used for power) and a standard USB port. The HDMI connector is HDMI 1.4 compliant. These are quite standard specifications.
